Hi, I'm Sarah

I'm a certified Alexander Technique teacher, yoga teacher and hold a Masters of Philosophy. I am fascinated by the body as both a physical organism and the place through which every experience of being alive is lived.

My approach is experiential, curious, and non-dogmatic. I don’t work from a particular spiritual or theoretical belief system, and I don’t ask you to subscribe to one either. Instead my work begins with paying attention to what can be observed, felt, and explored in direct sensory experience.

What are you actually sensing in your body? What happens when a sensation is allowed to unfold? What happens if we suspend judgment? And what becomes possible when that experience is witnessed, supported and acknowledged with another person?

The body is a treasure trove of sensations and feelings. Whether pleasurable, painful, loud or subtle, the body tells us something valuable about who we are, what we need, and how we relate to other people and the world around us.

No matter what you bring, this work begins with attention.

Listening Touch works by attuning to and respecting the natural pace and rhythms of the nervous system.

You can expect it to be slow and soothing and without any sudden movements.

The starting point is what is alive in you, and what is important to you. You receive soft hands-on touch while being supported in noticing the subtle sensory qualities in your body and attuning to the intelligence that lives there.

The session may include movement, standing, sitting and attention to breath. We round off the session with time to allow the experience to settle, and reflect together.

If this resonates, you are welcome to get in touch or book a session. You are always welcome to write to me or request a free curiosity call to help clarify if this work is right for you.
